Take a look at this old inn! In the 15th century it was recorded as a dwelling, and it is the oldest surviving inn in Christchurch. Opposite it was the public house named George and the Dragon - a link to the dragon myth of Christchurch. There is a local rumour that, after the building was damaged in the civil war, some of the stones from the local castle were used to rebuild its foundations. It is also rumoured to be haunted by ghosts, including the infamous Grey Lady. During repair works, they also found a priest hole - blocked in by bricks - that contained skeletons and clothing. This is where priests who didn't quite agree with their leaders would hide from them. It is definitely an interesting spot on our Adventure!

The best photos you can take in this place are of the Inn itself, and also down Church Street of the Priory.

As you walk to the next clue location, you will go down Church Lane. On the left hand side, if you can spot it, you will be able to see the old trolleybus turntable, where all the old trolleybuses used to be turned around at the end of the line. It is one of only five trolleybus turntables ever to have been constructed worldwide.
