Saxon Square - the centre of all things shopping in Christchurch! The land here stood behind the Town Hall and housed a technical school which was later used to hold the council chamber. Before that, in the 14th Century, a house called Hookey's House stood on this spot - owned by Samuel Hookey (aka the Wicked Man of Wick) who was both a smuggler and Mayor of Christchurch! This was all pulled down in the 1970s and 80s to make way for Saxon Square.

As well as getting some good views on the other side of the Old Town Hall, there is also a Saxon cross statue in the Square with some fun patterns you could photograph!
