Welcome to the Workhouse! Well, today it isn't the Workhouse, it is one of Christchurch's museums, but it has a rich history, and this is somewhere you might want to spend a little time. Nowadays it contains the story of Christchurch from the Ice Age to present day, but in 1764 it was opened as the parish's workhouse. You can explore the different wings, and the garden, where the poor people of Christchurch lived and worked. It later became a museum for the collection of Herbert Druitt, one of Christchurch's famous families.

Here are 5 different things you can take a photo of in this area:
1. The outside of the Museum
2. Find some fun items within the museum to photograph
3. The courtyard of the Museum
4. The Museum's gardens - you might find some interesting historical creatures there!
5. Just down the road and around the corner, there are some remnants of old Christchurch, and the war memorial.
